Historia de la crisis de los acercamientos entre el Gobierno y el ELN
Una guerra de rumores, acompañada de fuertes pullas del presidente Álvaro Uribe contra esa agrupación, dejó al descubierto el hecho.
La situación, incluso, arrastra al facilitador mexicano Andrés Valencia, en cuya etapa las aproximaciones habían florecido.
La historia se remonta a 20 días atrás, cuando el diplomático -designado por México desde el 18 de junio del 2004 para intentar sentar a las partes-, rechazó de plano una carta que la cúpula del Eln le escribió en términos muy duros y justo cuando estaba por divulgarse un principio de acuerdo para un encuentro personal con él.
